Almost half way through!

...wow time flies

Hello all!

Well week 2 has just officially finished and it has been an amazingly busy week. Getting a lot of my homework done in between classes, meals and field study travels. On Friday I went to London with my Drama class to see Madame de Sade with Judi Dench, and today I just got back from a day in Rye and Camber Castle. It was awesome. We got to trek two miles in a sheep field to get to the Camber.

My other week activities included touring the extensive Castle gardens (of which I have taken pictures and added them to this blog) and greeted my history prof's new puppy, Daisy. Now I shalt leave you with lovely pictures of my time well spent.

Birling Gap, Pevensey Castle and Brighton

On Sunday all of the ArtSci students got to go on a cultural trip to Birling Gap, Pevensey Castle and Brighton. First stop was the Birling Gap. When my friends and I were exploring the shore, my roomie Alex forgot the way waves have the annoying tendency of coming up on shore and got herself soaked up to her knees.

She was not so happy about having to spend the rest of the day in wet running shoes and jeans.

Afterward we traveled to Brighton and explored the Brighton Pier and Royal Pavilion.

The day ended with a stop at Pevensey Castle, which is a really cool ruin. It was originally built by the Romans, then rebuilt in the Middle Ages, and was eventually used to house military personal during the Second World War.

Per usual, Alex and I got a little excited at the fact that we were visiting Castle ruins.

I will put some more pictures of the castle up soon once I actually have time to go out in them. Taking a bunch of classes definitely keeps me inside a lot!

First Day

Hi all!

I thought this would be a great way to keep all of you tuned into my travels while I'm studying here in England!

The overnight flight was pretty good, including some interesting mood lighting that Air Canada now apparently includes in there planes...

Getting onto the bus I slept a lot of the way (because I decidedly did not sleep on the plane). My friend and roomate Alex apparently poked me and I didn't budge; However, I did wake up before comming into the grounds at Herstmoncuex Castle, which was great. As we came down the drive I could start to see the red brick turrets comming over the trees and than got the Castle in full view. It was beautiful.IMGP0165.jpg
The grounds are gorgeous and the food is actually pretty great. I posted some pictures which should be on one of the sides of this blog... I will leave you with those as I head off to the pub aswell as a bonfire as I have heard there will be Smores...

I will update this hopefully once a week if not more so if you want to see what I'm getting up to this is the place to come... I am also very seriously thinking of keeping a tally of how many rabit holes I fall into as there are so many... its been three so far...
